getting to travel is one of the perks of a lecturer’s wife. 🙂 as much as possible, daddy k would like us to join him wherever he goes for lectures/reviews. but since i can’t file too many leave days at work, we just pick which ones miss k and i can go to. 🙂
this time, we decided to join him in baguio! we took the deluxe bus at about 12:30 pm one saturday and reached baguio after 5 hours. why so bilis? the bus had no stopovers since it had a bathroom inside (na hindi ko naman nagamit haha!). miss k was behaved most of the time, and slept away 80% of our travel. 20% was spent pointing at trees, cars, cows, birds, clouds, etc., and playing games on an android tablet that the bus attendant gave out to bored passengers. 🙂 we had to return the tablets back before we got off the bus, of course!
we arrived just in time for dinner yey! 🙂 daddy k was so happy to see us!
the next day, we had brekkie at the baguio palace hotel resto (it had 2! cafe melodin and mr. ching) and headed out to burnham park (walking distance from the hotel) while daddy k was busy going to his lectures.
we had strawberry taho on the way there (miss k didn’t like it heehee), checked out the gardens and crossed over to the park (finally). we rented a bike for Php50 an hour. yaya a and i took turns in driving it, pagod na kami after 15 mins hehe tiniyaga na lang namin kasi sayang ang rental fee! 😀
we tried the strawberry ice cream, this one miss k loved. ayaw tigilan! 🙂
daddy k asked that we all go back to the hotel for lunch and we ate at mr. ching. masarap! the veggies in baguio are super yummy!
we spent the afternoon in the room lazing around (daddy k had to leave for his lecture though). i planned to bring the girls to session road but the little one was acting up and wouldn’t take a nap! ako tuloy ang nakatulog! katamad lumabas in that kind of baguio weather (it rained EVERYDAY in the afternoon when we were there)
at least we got off our butts to go to sm baguio just in time for the sunset. we had merienda at jollibee since nagutom na kami hehehe
then daddy k arrived and we settled to have dinner at max’s (after going up and down the escalators, looking for a place to eat).
the next day, we hired a taxi to take us around baguio. i think the rate we got was php230 (haggled from php250) an hour. not bad, since the other taxis i inquired with quoted php350 and php300, respectively.
so, we had breakfast at good taste…
and since it was raining like crazy that morning, went to tam-awan village..
the weaving room…
and when the rains stopped, mines view park!
where the girls dressed up (rent for the costumes were at php10 a piece)
and miss k met fiona. 🙂 she still refers to dogs as coco (kuh-kow!!), the first dog, a shih tzu, that she met, and fiona (..naaa!). 😛
we passed by camp john hay
had lunch at emil rose grill…
and had coffee (and raisin bread!) at the manor. 🙂
we picked more faawerrrss!
and played at this mini-park with these life size animals.
our little one fell asleep on the way back to the hotel. we passed by to pray at the pink sisters,
rested when we got to the hotel, and after asking around on where to have dinner, headed for solibao restaurant. 🙂 food was good!
i was so looking forward to this experience, but since it was raining the day before, the fields were muddy as hell. 😦 they rented out boots though, but we decided we’ll do this another day. wag nang ipilit. 🙂
we “picked” strawberries na lang from the vendors’ display area hahaha!
sulit ang strawberry sa batang ito. simot! 🙂
di kami mahilig sa peechurs. 😛
sa dami ba naman ng pwedeng photo ops dun, di pa nga lahat ng sulok yan e hehe
at last, napa-pose ko. yes! 🙂
photo op with the ducks (kak-kak kung si miss k hehe) 🙂
we wanted to try the food at cafe sabel but since nagbabadya na naman ang ulan and we didn’t want to get stuck there for hours, we decided to leave for the hotel na.
lunch was at mr. ching (again) inside the hotel. masarap nga kasi dun e. 🙂
we rested the whole afternoon, playing with miss k until her nap time. we napped with her. 🙂 then for dinner, we headed to o mai khan for their famous mongolian buffet. yum-o!
it was then back to the hotel to pick up our bags and go to the victory bus terminal for our trip back to manila. we put ourselves on waitlist for the 10:10 pm trip, and got in easily. miss k fell asleep 2 mins after the bus rolled out of the terminal. we arrived in manila after 4 hours, and had to wake up miss k. no s***. i was surprised it was that fast! 😀
thanks for a wonderful time. see you again soon, baguio! 🙂
